Authentic Johor Baru Kuey Teow Kia 老字号新山粿条仔 @ Taman Sri Tebrau, Johor Baru
Have been trying few famous kuey teow kia in Johor Bahru, and this shop near to the wet market in Taman Sri Tebrua has become one of my favourite. The name of the restaurant, claiming itself as an authentic restaurant for Kuey Teow Kia in Johor Bahru. I am not too sure about its authenticity, but its kuey teow kia one of the most delicious and just right to my taste.
We normally visit the restaurant during dinner time. Other than the tables in the shop, they also get ready with another half dozen of tables, to cater the bigger crowd later in night.
The herbal broth is lighter in colour but is sufficiently flavourful.
Our all-time favourite side dishes to go with the kuey teow kia are beancurd skin, pig intestine, pig skin, braised egg, pork belly, all of which are very tasty as they have fully absorbed the essence of the broth. This Authentic Johor Bahru has become one of our regular places for kuey teow kia, the main reason being is their consistent quality and standard, the same good taste is maintained all the while.
