P' Yai Thai Restaurant @ Taman Impian Emas, Skudai, Johor
Last weekend, I was craving for traditional Thai food. When I googled for authentic Thai food restaurant, this was caught into my sight. This restaurant was highly recommended by local. As I read for some reviews, it is normally crowded during lunch hour. Therefore, I come at dinner hour to avoid unwanted crowd scenes.
This restaurant was located quite a hidden place, and the business centre there was very quiet during night time. Better come in group at night for safety purpose. Back to topic, I found that the food here was taste great and can feel the truly Thailand dishes here. Very interesting.
Coconut Drink 香椰 RM4.90 |
To pair with hot and spicy Thai cuisine, coconut drink is a must beverage on table. Hence, I order for two. It was chilled and I recalled back I had been awhile time did not take a sip of coconut juice. How long are you not drinking coconut drink?
Fry Asparagus with Belacan and Prawn 芭拉煎芦笋 RM14.90 |
The first dish, stir-fried asparagus is one of my favourite dishes. I like this particular vegetable very much because of its crunchiness, not bad to season it with belacan, tickling my taste bud with the spiciness.
Pandan Chicken 香兰叶鸡肉 RM3 per pcs |
Second dish, Pandan Chicken delicious max. I can easily had two pandan chicken, This dish is highly recommended by me. The pocket was fully wrapped with pandan leaves, the pandan leave aroma stick strongly on the chicken. It come with very good taste and keep calling me to order more. Next time perhaps I need order more to satisfy my taste bud.
Butter Prawn Thai Style 泰式牛油虾 RM16.90 |
Was craving for some seafood, initially we planned to have their signature squids or crabs, but too bad run out of stock due to overwhelming crowd during lunch. So we ordered butter prawn. The egg silks on the top is quite crispy and fragrant. The prawns were quite big in size. But overall this dish disappointed me because the prawn wasn't that fresh.
Thai Ice Kacang RM3.90 |
At the last, I order this Thai Ice Kacang. According to other, this is one of the traditional dessert at Thailand. Its look nothing special from outside. After few smouthful, I found inside there have glutinous rice ball, watermelon pieces, cendol, red bean and syrup at the of ice. A very good mixture of dessert, very refreshing and chilled up. I was quite surprised with the good taste despite it looks simple and not so attractive.
