Zing @ Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur

About ZING

Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur signature Chinese restaurant – Zing (non-halal )located on level one of the hotel, the restaurant is part of an all in one dining and entertainment destination, combines an authentic Cantonese menu with light, creative oriental cuisine and places a strong emphasis on the daily Dim Sum made live on the open kitchen. Seven elegant private dining rooms are available for a higher level of personalized service. The private dining rooms, each with luxurious décor, are ideal for entertaining and celebrating all occasions. Seating from 4 to 20. One private area with live open kitchen is also available for personal celebrations or company dinner.

Their Dim Sum Master Chefs Thy Yoon Kong greets guests at the entrance of the restaurant with steamed buns and Dim Sum aroma. The restaurant features the best of Cantonese and select oriental cuisine from their team of Chefs led by Master Chef Leong, as well as a large selection of Chef’s Signature dishes, daily Dim Sum lunch, local and regional specialties, and exciting live cooking.
The restaurant’s interior reminds the Shanghai in the 30s with not an oppressive dose of the traditional elements. The interior is packed with contemporary dialogue cream-colored armchairs and long, curved settees with comfortable cushions. The lamps are conversation pieces, comprising a “scale” balanced on one end by the soft glow of a dragon and phoenix lampshade and a Chinese writing brush on the other.

Dining in authentic way. Spoon, chopsticks and plate made feel of 30'sShanghai
Can you see that how serious Chef Leong and his team preparing tonight dishes.
Normally, Chinese cuisines are served on big plates, how about to have it on your personal plate?
A selection of 4 hot appetizers
Deep fried soft shell crab, Salad wanton, Stir fried squid with X.O. sauce, Stir fried kong pao diced chicken

I like the most kong pao diced chicken, the chicken is soft and fully absorbs the spiciness and fragrance of dried chilies. The soft shell crab is another recommended item, Chef Leong told us the secret to make the crab crispy, temperature of the oil is the key to make the crab crispy and fragrant.
Roasted meat platter
I like the char siew a lot, credited to  its BBQ char siew sauce, it is really unique, with some appropriate sweetness.
Stewed soon hock fish with bean puff and whole garlic
Experienced Chef Leong has made this dish a big success by making the coating of fish crispy while juicy inside. The bean puff matches with the soon hock fish very well, such combination has indeed level up the deliciousness.
Braised homemade bean curd with stir fried scallop and garden greens
Scallop is taste good and fresh, but i personally prefer the steamed scallop more. The bean curb is smooth and full with soya bean fragrance. The beancurd has absorded the essential soup into it after braised.
Stir fried egg noodles with shredded honey barbecue pork and soy sauce
Honey barbecue pork is really a great ingredient into stir fried egg noodles. The noodle taste different whenever adding different ingredient. I think i should go back and try this again. Really nice.
Sweetened potato soup with glutinous rice dumpling
A typical Cantonese dessert. The glutinous rice dumpling match with the ginger-flavoured soup nicely. The sesame filling in the glutinous rice ball is fined blended and smooth.
